Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • Originality and exclusive submission
    The manuscript is original and unpublished, has not been previously published in any form, and is not under simultaneous consideration at any other journal.
  • Approval of all co-authors
    All co-authors have read, reviewed, and approved the final version of the manuscript and agree with its submission to this journal.
  • Format and structure
    The manuscript complies with the journal's author instructions: it is written using the official template (.docx), in Times New Roman 12pt font, and includes the title, abstract, keywords, and all required sections for the article type.
  • References follow Vancouver citation style with numbered parenthetical citations.
  • andatory declarations
    The manuscript includes a conflict of interest statement (or explicit absence thereof), a funding sources statement (or absence thereof), and a Data Availability Statement.
  • Ethical considerations
    If the study involves human participants or animals, approval from the relevant institutional ethics committee has been obtained and the approval number is stated in the Materials and Methods section. Informed consent has been obtained where applicable.
  • Use of generative artificial intelligence
    If generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) tools were used in writing, analysis, or data generation, the use is explicitly declared in the Acknowledgements section of the manuscript.
  • Third-party material
    All necessary permissions have been obtained to reproduce figures, tables, images, or other previously published material from third parties, and their source is properly cited in the manuscript.
  • Cover letter
    A cover letter is included as a supplementary file, containing the significance of the work, its relevance
    to the journal, a conflict of interest statement, and disclosure of any use of generative AI if applicable.

Author Guidelines

Before submitting your manuscript, please ensure
you meet the following requirements:

1. The work is original and has not been previously
published, nor is it under simultaneous consideration
at any other journal.

2. All co-authors have read, reviewed, and approved
the final version of the manuscript and agree with
its submission to this journal.

3. The manuscript is written in Spanish or English
with correct spelling and grammar.

4. The main file is in Microsoft Word format (.docx)
using the official AJES template, available at:

5. The abstract does not exceed 200 words and is
written in both languages.

6. References follow the IEEE citation style with
numbered brackets in order of appearance.

7. Figures and tables are in high resolution
(minimum 300 dpi) and cited in the text.

8. Conflicts of interest and funding sources are
declared. If none exist, this is explicitly stated.

9. Required ethical approvals have been obtained
where applicable (studies involving humans or animals).

10. A cover letter is included as a supplementary
file. The letter must include the significance and
contribution of the work, its relevance to the
journal, a conflict of interest statement, and
disclosure of any use of generative artificial
intelligence. An official template is available at:

11. Suggested reviewers (optional): in the cover
letter, include at least 5 potential reviewers with
their full name, institutional affiliation, and
institutional email address. Proposed reviewers must
not have any conflict of interest with any of the
authors.

The corresponding author must register with their
own account on this journal's portal. Credentials
are not shared between journals in the Andean Journals
group. For more details, please refer to the Author
Instructions page in the About menu.

Andean Journals is committed to protecting the privacy of users who interact with its portals. This statement describes how personal information is collected, used, and protected.

Information We Collect
When you register in this journal's portal, we collect the following information: full name, email address, institutional affiliation, country of residence, and area of expertise. This information is necessary to manage the manuscript submission and review process.

Use of Information
The information collected is used exclusively for the following purposes: processing and evaluating submitted manuscripts, communicating the status of the editorial process, publishing the article if accepted, and maintaining a record of submissions to the journal. It is not used for any other purpose without the user's explicit consent.

Protection of Information
Andean Journals implements appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

Sharing of Information
Personal information is not sold, traded, or transferred to third parties. It may be shared with editorial board members and reviewers exclusively for the purposes of the manuscript evaluation process.

Retention of Information
Information is retained for as long as necessary to process the submission and evaluate the article. If the article is published, information is retained for permanent archival purposes.

User Rights
Users may at any time request access, correction, or deletion of their personal information by sending an email to editorial@andeanjournals.org.
