Fees and Waivers
Article Processing Charge (APC)
Andean Journal of Social Sciences operates under the Gold Open Access model: reading, searching, and downloading all published articles is completely free for any reader worldwide. Editorial sustainability is financed through an Article Processing Charge (APC), payable by the author upon formal acceptance of the manuscript.
The APC covers the costs of editorial review, layout, permanent hosting, and digital preservation of the article.

The APC is communicated to the corresponding author only after formal acceptance of the manuscript. The editorial decision is completely independent of the author's financial situation.
Inaugural Fee Waiver
During the inaugural issue of AJSS, a 100% APC waiver applies to all accepted authors:
- Vol. 1, No. 1 — publication 2027
The waiver is automatic and requires no prior application. From Vol. 2, No. 1 onwards, the standard APC of USD 250 applies.
Waiver Policy
From Vol. 2 onwards, authors who do not have funding to cover the APC may apply for a full or partial waiver at the time of acceptance. Applications are evaluated on a case-by-case basis, considering the author's situation and the quality of the accepted work. To apply, the author must send an email to editorial@andeanjournals.org with the subject line "Waiver Application", including a brief justification.
Andean Publishing is committed to not rejecting any quality article for economic reasons.
Payment Method
The APC is payable by bank transfer or PayPal, according to the instructions sent by the editorial team upon acceptance. No payment is processed before formal acceptance of the manuscript.
