The following are not published:
- Institutional reports or initiatives without a research basis.
- Opinion essays without empirical or theoretical support.
- Non-systematic literature reviews.
- Works that do not contribute new knowledge or fail to demonstrate originality with respect to the state of the art.
- Manuscripts with insufficiently described methodology, incorrect statistical analysis, or conclusions not supported by the data presented.
Peer Review Process
All manuscripts are initially assessed by the Editor-in-Chief to verify their relevance and compliance with the journal's guidelines. Manuscripts deemed suitable are reviewed by at least two external referees through a double-blind peer review process, in which neither authors nor reviewers are aware of each other's identity. The Editor-in-Chief makes the final editorial decision.
Publication Frequency
AJSS publishes two issues per year. Accepted articles are published online as soon as they are ready, prior to the formal publication of the issue.
Open Access Policy
AJSS operates under the Gold Open Access model. All articles are immediately and freely available to any reader, without embargo periods. Reading, downloading, and redistribution are entirely free of charge.
Article Processing Charge (APC)
The sustainability of the journal is financed through an Article Processing Charge (APC) of USD 250, payable by the author upon acceptance of the manuscript. The scientific evaluation is completely independent of the author's financial situation.
During Vol. 1, No. 1 (2027), a 100% APC waiver applies to all accepted authors. The benefit is automatic and requires no prior application. From Vol. 2, No. 1 onwards, the standard APC of USD 250 comes into effect. Authors without funding may apply for a justified waiver at the time of acceptance.
Copyright and License
Authors retain copyright over their work. By publishing in AJSS, they grant the journal the right of first publication. All articles are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license, which permits sharing, redistribution, and adaptation of the work for any purpose, including commercial use, provided that appropriate credit is given to the original author.
Ethics Statement
AJSS is committed to the integrity of the scientific publication process and adopts the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All authors, editors, and reviewers are expected to adhere to the highest ethical standards.
The following are considered serious ethical violations:
- Fabrication or falsification of data, results, or images.

- Undeclared use of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) in writing, analysis, or data generation. Use exclusively for spelling or grammar correction does not require declaration.
AJSS reserves the right to reject manuscripts, retract published articles, or notify the author's institution in the event of any proven infraction. For a full description of scientific integrity policies, please refer to the Ethics Statement.
