6. Ethical Considerations
By submitting a manuscript to AJES, authors agree to comply with the following ethical requirements. For a full description of Andean Journals' scientific integrity policies, please refer to the Ethics Statement.
Originality and plagiarism. The manuscript must be original, must not have been previously published, and must not be under simultaneous consideration at another journal. All manuscripts are verified using plagiarism detection software. The acceptable similarity threshold is 10%, excluding references and appropriate citations.
Authorship. Only those who have made a substantial contribution to the work and have approved the final version of the manuscript should be listed as authors. The corresponding author is responsible for confirming the agreement of all co-authors prior to submission.
Conflicts of interest. All financial, institutional, or personal conflicts of interest must be declared. If none exist, the following statement must be included: "The authors declare no conflict of interest".
Data availability. All articles must include a Data Availability Statement. This statement is mandatory even when no new data were generated or when data are unavailable due to ethical or privacy restrictions.
Studies involving humans or animals. Approval from the relevant institutional ethics committee is required. The approval number must be stated in the Materials and Methods section. Studies involving humans must comply with the Declaration of Helsinki; studies involving animals must comply with the 3Rs principles and the ARRIVE guidelines.
Use of generative artificial intelligence. The use of GenAI tools in writing, analysis, or data generation must be declared in the Acknowledgements section. Use exclusively for spelling or grammar correction does not require declaration. GenAI tools cannot be listed as authors.
Image manipulation. Selective manipulation of images that distorts results is not permitted. Brightness or contrast adjustments must be applied uniformly and declared.
7. Data Availability Statement
All articles published in AJHS must include a Data Availability Statement indicating where data supporting the reported results can be found. When data is unavailable due to ethical or privacy restrictions, an explicit statement is still required.
8. Submission Process
Manuscripts must be submitted exclusively through the AJHS online portal. The corresponding author must register with their own account — credentials are not valid in other Andean Journals publications. A confirmation email will be sent upon submission.
